John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lauded gospel musician Nacee for his significant role in the party’s campaigns through his music.
In an interview with Woerzor TV on December 2, 2024, Mahama expressed admiration for Nacee’s musical abilities, emphasizing his proficiency in sound engineering and his longstanding support in creating campaign songs for the party during election seasons.
“Whenever someone is good at what they do, it’s important to acknowledge and commend their work. Nacee has composed many of our campaign songs, from ‘Onaapo’ to the most recent one, ‘Kwen Kwen.’ He is incredibly talented, especially when it comes to sound engineering, and I consider him one of the best in Ghana,” Mahama said.
He further explained that as elections approach, he consistently turns to Nacee, who ensures that he fully grasps the NDC’s manifesto and vision, incorporating these into his music.
“He does thorough research and always brings out the best in his work. When the election period comes around, I always call him to help us with a campaign song, and he delivers every time,” Mahama added.
In a response on his X page, Nacee thanked Mahama for the praise, writing, “I am deeply touched by your generous remarks, Your Excellency,” Nacee wrote.
Since 2016, Nacee has been an integral part of the NDC’s election campaigns, contributing popular songs such as “Onaapo,” “Kwen Kwen,” “Okada,” and others.
