Kumawood actor Abraham Davis, widely known as Salinko, has credited his acting career with significant achievements, including the acquisition of three plots of land. Speaking in an interview on Accra FM on December 4, 2024, Salinko discussed how his work in the film industry has positively transformed his life.
According to him, acting has been a lucrative endeavor that has opened numerous doors. Beyond the financial rewards, his roles have enhanced his visibility and positioned him as a brand ambassador for multiple companies. His presence on billboards and associations with reputable brands have further elevated his profile.
“Shooting movies has been very profitable for me. The films I’ve shot have not only earned me money but have also taken me to places where I’ve been able to influence people’s brands. I’m still an ambassador for many brands, and some even have me on their billboards, which has really helped me,” he established.
Reflecting on his journey, Salinko expressed gratitude for his accomplishments and emphasized the importance of trusting the process rather than competing with others. He revealed that he began investing in real estate in Kumasi nearly a decade ago and has since diversified his holdings.
One plot is earmarked for a hospital, another houses a completed residential building, and the third has been entrusted to his siblings. To prevent disputes, he registered all the properties in his late mother’s name.
“Life is not a competition. Watching others can inspire you to do more. All the lands I’ve purchased are quite expensive. I started buying property in Kumasi around 2014/2015. We didn’t start early, but God has been faithful,” he said.
The actor acknowledged the pivotal role media platforms, particularly UTV, played in his career, attributing much of his success to the exposure his productions received. This visibility, he noted, allowed him to afford comforts like vehicles and travel, as well as to pursue new ventures, such as a factory for film production.
“I’m building a hospital on one of the plots, and I’ve built a house on another. The third plot has been given to my siblings, but I intentionally registered all the lands in my late mother’s name. I did this because I didn’t want anyone to think of selling or fighting over the land,” he stated.
Salinko also spoke about his commitment to adding value to brands he endorses. He described his approach as one focused on delivering results, ensuring his work leaves a lasting impact. His journey, he shared, is a testament to the rewards of diligence and faith, inspiring others to recognize the potential within their careers.
“UTV helped me push my brand to new heights, especially through the series I aired on their station. It has allowed me to do many things, including travel and buy cars, so I could feel comfortable. I usually don’t like discussing my personal life in public, but we are currently building a nice factory for our productions. So, I can confidently say that movies have given me a lot,” he added.
“When I’m hired to advertise for a brand, it’s all about the money, but I make sure I take that brand far. Anything I touch is a blessing, and I’m sharing this to encourage others. Although I don’t usually put my personal matters out there, this career has allowed me to acquire three plots of land in Kumasi. They’re all close to me.”
