Former English footballer, Troy Deeney has lauded Thomas Partey for his versatility after the Ghanaian midfielder’s stellar performance in Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking on SkySports, Deeney highlighted Partey’s ability to seamlessly step into different roles when needed. “He steps in, and every time they ask him to play right-back, he does a good job and doesn’t let the team down. He is the type of person you’d be really grateful for in your team,” Deeney remarked.
Partey, filling in at right-back due to Ben White’s absence and Jurrien Timber being rested, impressed once again. The midfielder has previously played in this position with success, and his contribution helped Arsenal secure a clean sheet. He ended the match with a solid 7.4 rating, the fourth-highest among Arsenal players.
