Kwame Asare Obeng, known as A Plus, the MP-elect for Gomoa Central, has raised suspicions about the recent attack on the office and residence of outgoing Ablekuma West MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
In a post shared on X on December 11, 2024, A Plus suggested that Owusu-Ekuful may have orchestrated the attack herself. He speculated that it could be an attempt to damage the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and garner public sympathy for her cause. “Ursula Owusu could very well be behind the alleged attacks on her office and residence! It wouldn’t be surprising if it were a scheme to damage the NDC’s reputation and gain sympathy,” he wrote.
A Plus also criticized the minister for not having installed CCTV cameras at her office and residence despite serving as Minister of Communications for eight years. He questioned her security preparedness, stating, “If, after serving as Minister of Communications for eight years, her office and residence still lack CCTV cameras, it speaks volumes about the kind of associates Akufo-Addo worked with, more focused on theatrics than substance. She is capable! it is possible!!”
In terms of the incident, it was reported that on December 9, 2024, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful’s office and residence in Ablekuma West were ransacked by approximately 15 men. The Ghana Police Service has confirmed an investigation is underway, with added security around her properties. According to the police statement, several items, including motorbikes, a pickup truck, and a 32-inch Samsung television, were stolen during the attack.
