Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has cautioned his fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members against defending Kwabena Adu Boahene if allegations of financial misconduct against him are confirmed.
During an appearance on JoyNews’ AM Show on Tuesday, March 25, Assafuah emphasized that any proven wrongdoing should not be shielded by party loyalty. “If this is true, I am warning party persons, NPP persons, in the event that this is proven that this is true, please don’t go and defend it because we are building a nation,” he stated.
The accusations against Adu Boahene were brought to light by the Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, on Monday, March 24. Dr. Ayine alleged that the former Director General of the National Signals Bureau, who held the position from 2017 to 2025, siphoned millions of dollars meant for a cyber defence initiative, channelling the funds into real estate ventures in Accra and abroad.
