The Member of Parliament-elect for Okaikwei Central, Baba Sadiq, has called on his opponent, Patrick Boamah, to gracefully accept the results of the 2024 general elections. Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on December 10, 2024, Baba Sadiq emphasized the need for unity and progress following the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the results.
Acknowledging Patrick Boamah’s decision to contest the outcome in court, Baba Sadiq remarked, “It’s his right to challenge the results, but the Electoral Commission’s declaration represents the voice of the people.”
He urged the outgoing MP to reflect on the electorate’s call for change and to explore new avenues. “I would have wished that someone who had served three terms would appreciate the constituents’ decision for a different path. It’s time for him to embrace this transition and consider other opportunities,” he noted.
Baba Sadiq further commended his rival’s political acumen and encouraged him to focus on advancing his career. “He is a fine gentleman with considerable experience. There’s every chance for him to rise within his party or in politics more broadly,” he added.
