The Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, John Setor Dumelo, has expressed his enthusiasm about working alongside the newly appointed Minister of Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, following his nomination as Deputy Minister-designate for the sector.
In a post on X dated February 6, 2025, Dumelo conveyed his readiness to contribute to the ministry’s efforts, emphasizing his admiration for the substantive minister and his commitment to advancing the agricultural sector.
Replying to a congratulatory message from Eric Opoku, Dumelo stated: “Thanks so much, Senior. Can’t wait to begin working with you to transform the agric sector. I have always admired you and your contributions. Have an amazing morning, my boss.”
President John Mahama appointed Dumelo to the role on February 5, 2025, as announced by Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Dumelo, a first-term MP under the NDC and a dedicated farmer, brings both political and practical experience to his new position.
