Security analyst Dr. Adam Bonaa has urged Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, the former Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), to consider resigning from the Ghana Police Service and exploring a career in active politics.
In an interview with Efia Tutuwaa Danso on Starr Today, Dr. Bonaa expressed concerns about Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s performance in public service, suggesting that politics might offer her a better opportunity to thrive. “It’s a decision she would have to make,” he said. “She’s not 60 years old yet, so there’s still time for her to pursue other interests. If I were her, I would quietly resign and go into active politics. Perhaps in politics, she might shine. But if you ask me, I think her tenure in public service has exposed her as someone not fit to head any public institution.”
Dr. Bonaa also pointed to the infamous “A-Plus tape,” which he believes highlights the shortcomings of Tiwaa Addo-Danquah’s leadership. “The A-Plus tape says it all. If you listen to it, it tells you what she said and reflects on her leadership,” he explained.
He also noted her potential alignment with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), suggesting that this could play a role in her potential political aspirations. “Oh, obviously the NPP,” Dr. Bonaa remarked when asked which party she might favor.
Despite his critique, Dr. Bonaa acknowledged the challenges of politics but emphasized that it could be an opportunity for her to excel. “There are also failed politicians, anyway. But it’s worth a try if she believes she can excel there.”
