Ghana defender Tariq Lamptey has earned a spot in the BBC English Premier League Team of the Week following his impressive performance against Leicester City.
The Brighton and Hove Albion right-back made an impact by scoring a stunning goal to open the scoring in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium on Sunday. Lamptey not only contributed offensively but also delivered a solid defensive display, earning recognition from Troy Deeney, who included him in his Team of the Week.
“Scored a cracker at Leicester, and he is a really strange player. You can see the potential and ability, but you are always hoping that he stays fit,” Deeney explained.
Joining Lamptey in the lineup are Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez and Enzo Konza, Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix and Will Hughes, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer, and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson. The attacking trio consists of Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), and Bryan Mbuemo (Brentford).
