The Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that he frequently faces threats from individuals opposed to the group’s mission. Speaking during an interview on JoyNews on January 13, 2025, he acknowledged the challenges but expressed gratitude for the public’s backing.
“Threats have become a daily feature. We have a tough skin, we know the good Lord will protect us, we are also encouraged by the support we have from the Ghanaian people,” he remarked. “So, we expect more of the threats, the bad guys have come up with more schemes, propaganda, demonise you, bastardise you and call you all the bad names.”
Despite these obstacles, Ablakwa reaffirmed ORAL’s determination to fulfill its objectives, undeterred by resistance.
“It is an honor to serve your country to leave a legacy in a very positive area. I really ignore all the threats and attacks. They don’t get to me at all,” he stated.
ORAL, established under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, is dedicated to retrieving public funds and assets believed to have been misappropriated during the administration of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
